About Ballyhornan Family Centre

The
Official opening of the newly established Ballyhornan Family
Centre took place on Friday 28th November 2008 by
Mr Eddie Mc Grady MP. The extraordinary coming together of
funding for the new custom built £250k community centre was provided
by Rural Development Group, International Fund for Ireland,
Down District Council, Local Economic Development Strategy
DDC, Fishing villages initiative 2005 and the
Ballyhornan & District Community Association. From the
community of Ballyhornan, for the provision of these superb
facilities; we send our heart felt thanks for their support in
bringing this project to fruition.
In a very short
time the Centre has already begun the process of being at the heart
of the local community with the provision of first class services
and facilities for the benefit of all. There is already an
established wide and varied range of classes, activities, events,
and shows taking place, as the centre already begins to thrive. A
drop-in policy for all is operated, and everyone is welcome.
We believe the Centre has something for everyone", said
Chair person Patricia Curran.
Mission Statement
To provide
facilities and services for the benefit of the community To be
financially independent through fundraising and private sector

better understand the requirements of both old and young members of
the community and to provide for their requirements to the best of
our ability To help focus organisation and resources that
improves infrastructure, amenities and facilities locally by
participation in development projects for the benefit of the
community
